After an exciting start to life at Stoke, former Barcelona attacker Bojan has fallen out of favour with Mark Hughes over the last 18 months or so.

Hughes appears to have moved on from he Spaniard and that process began last season when he sent Bojan to Mainz on loan for the second half of the season. Get the latest free bets here ahead of the weekend’s football.

Stoke tried to ship the striker out on a permanent basis this summer but there were no takers before he joined La Liga side Alaves on a season-long loan.

The Potters also sent defender Marc Muniesa back to Spain on a loan deal with Girona and the two clubs were in talks over a similar deal for Bojanbefore it broke down.

“I had the option to go to Girona but finally the negotiations broke down,” the 27-year-old forward told RAC1.

He added: “I was very clear that I wanted to go back to Spain. Whoever I most value is who really loves me, and in this sense, Alavés are the ones who have shown the most interest in having me.”
